About the Name

The word "Amynta"(s) is inscribed on coins which were minted at the time of Ancient Greek king Amyntas III, king of Macedon from 393 to 369 BC and the grandfather of Alexander the Great. The more than two thousand year old silver coins, called tetradrachms, exhibit a rich imagery of equines, canines and felines along with grapes and agricultural plants. These all appropriately convey the essence of our company. A detailed description of the coins can be found in “The Catalogue of Greek Coins From The British Museum”, c.1879 with commentary by Barclay V. Head. The caduceus is as a symbol of unprecedented horse quality. Ancient Greece, without a doubt, provided the foundation of Western Civilization including horsemanship and medicine. Hippocrates (460-370 BC), the "father of medicine", was an ancient Greek physician. One of the earliest works on horsemanship in the Western world, "On Horsemanship" is written c. 350 BC by Xenophon, details the selection, care, and training of horses. It is one of the oldest Western works on the foundations and principles of classical riding and dressage which is used to this day.
